A search of almost a thousand young clubgoers - using a high tech 'search arch' - yielded no weapons.
None of the 965 14-17-year-olds searched using the arch at Liquid nightclub in Windsor were found to be in possession of weapons during the crackdown which took place on Tuesday night.
The operation took place with the full co-operation of the management at Liquid and a team of 10 police officers, special constables and licensing staff from Thames Valley Police and the Royal Borough were on hand to conduct the operation.
Debie Pearmain, Thames Valley Police licensing officer, said: “The search arch is another tool the police use in trying to prevent any potential incidents. It sends a clear message out to everyone that we will not tolerate violent crime in the Royal Borough. We want to educate young people at this age so when they reach the legal age to be drinking alcohol they will all be familiar with the search arch."
